JUNE 23, 2009 Heeding the Call for Public Service BY PSI RODEL GUROBAT TRUMATA
The first phase of PNPA cadetship training is the so-called “Reception Rites” wherein new cadets will be formally received in the Academy by the members of the Cadet Corps Philippine Public Safety Services. This event is not similar to an ordinary reception ceremony as misconstrued by most cadet applicants. It is highlighted with a unique activity strictly supervised by the Cadet Corps, organized into eight companies- to compose the eight stations to conduct a series of physical exercises set for the new cadets, the “plebes” or fourthclassmen. In this case, fourthclassmen must overcome the challenges and pressures on the given physical exercises based on the approved Program of Instruction (POI). Unfortunately for the past years, a great number of fourthclassmen opted to resign and decided to renounce the call for public service in this very early stage of their cadetship. |

June 22, 2009 ACADEMIC FORUM BY PSI RODEL GUROBAT TRUMATA In her speech during the opening ceremony of the Academic Forum 2009, Honorable Margarita “Tingting” Cojuangco, the President Philippine Public Safety College (PPSC), put emphasis on the significance of the forum to better uphold the new concepts and methodologies in possibly integrating contemporary and innovative programs in the educational system of the Academy. The first session of the two-day Joint PPSC and PNPA Academic Forum was held on June 20, 2009 (Saturday) at the PNPA Messhall. And on July 5, 2009 (Saturday) will be the conclusion of the activity with other equally competent and knowledgeable guest lecturers and resource speakers from other government agencies and well known institutions. |
