Part of the curriculum for the Bachelor of Science in Public Safety is that every cadet should undergo summer training programs. Each class has its own specific program designed to facilitate the cadets’ future needs. On April 16, 2008, the Summer Camp training was inaugurated at the Philippine National Police Academy, Silang, Cavite. As for the Mabikas Class of 2011, they underwent Police Intervention Course (PIC) and a series of Seminars. The class was divided according to battalions to be able to cater the needs of each team. The first set was the first to taste the adventures and learning in PIC together with the supportive Course Director, PCI SALVADOR.
Lessons included in the program were Armed and Unarmed Self-defense using arnis and probaton, Civil Disturbance Management (CDM), Live Firing and other drills. They were assisted by PNCOs and the team from the SAF School headed by PCI Ordiz. On the other hand, the other half was confined at the PCAI hall for a series of seminars to include Communication Skills Enhancement, Stress Management Seminar, Seminar on Graft and Corruption from the Office of the Ombudsman, Tri- Bureau Orientation, Fire Drills and a lot more. The Seminars were spearheaded by the proactive PSUPT NICOLAS S SALVADOR from the Academics Department, and FSI JOHN F PINAGOD JR. Summer training was made memorable by the unified graduation for all summer training programs. |
